At thehomesteadsgroup.com, we focus on providing safe and affordable housing for the southwest Iowa community. We have a variety of real estate for rent to meet your needs including apartments and single family homes. Typical price ranges for our properties are between $600 to $1400 per month.

Attached is our application. Please fill this out and return it to our email address (midwesthomesteads@yahoo.com) OR return a paper copy to our drop box located at our office. Please include paystubs or proof of income. These typically take about 2 business days to process.

Call 402-812-1404 for emergencies
If you are experiencing a maintenance emergency after normal business hours,
please call 402.812.1404. You will need to leave a message. A call will be returned to you.
Some examples of maintenance emergencies:
A furnace out when the temperature is below 50 degrees
A broken pipe actively gushing water
A gas leak
Air Conditioning going out is NOT an emergency
Use the drop-box!
* This is the best and preferred method for paying rent. Put your rent in an envelope with your name and address clearly marked. It falls into a locked box that only can only be accessed by an office staff member with a key.
* Pay rent in person - Only do this if you have cash, that way you can get a receipt
* Mail your rent to 32 Scott Street - Council Bluffs, IA 51503
*** We do not do online payments yet but hope to be able to complete that feature in the future ***
- Rent is always due on the 1st of the month
- Rent is considered LATE on the 6th of the month
- To avoid a late fee, rent must be paid in full no later than the 5th of the month.
- Late fees vary depending on the property. The typical late fee for Homesteads is $80
- If your rent is late and you do NOT include the late fee, your rent will be sent back to you
- We highly discourage paying in cash - PLEASE protect yourself and pay with check, certified funds or money orders
- We have a drop box located to the right of our door. Please put your payment in an envelope with your NAME and ADDRESS on it so that we may credit the correct account
- Rent covers the first of the month through the last day of that month
